Quick Update

It's been quite a while since my last post, but I have been a busy girl. I recently turned 25 so I have been mourning that event. In case you were wondering how it feels to be 25, it feels awful. I know it's really not that old, but I, personally, do not like it. I'm too old for all the cute clothes and too young for all the other clothes. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not.

We all started school again, and the transition seems to have gone over well. I've been stressing over taking the GRE (Graduate Records Exam). I take it on Friday. I only started studying like a week ago. It sounds bad, but if you know me, then you know that's a major achievement. I was just going to "wing it". I realized though that this isn't something that can be "wung". lol - Yeah, I'm working on my vocabulary.

We also have a couple new additions to the family. Some friends of ours gave us two little MaltyPoos, Jonas and Jenner. They are too cute. I love them already. However, I now live in a testosterone-fest; Drew, Parker, Pinky, Jonas, and Jenner.... all males. Yippee. And none of them know how to clean up after themselves. I don't have any pictures of the lil guys yet. When I stop procrastinating I'll post some.

My running has taken a back seat. I feel extremely guilty for it too. For a while I ran every day, but lately other things are taking priority such as: sleep, studying, cleaning, Parker, eating... you get the point. There is a race that I would like to do in a month. I better get my booty in gear if I want to beat my time at the Lucky Star 5k. Maybe in the morning I'll run.

Weekend was great!

Friday night Drew, Parker, and I went to the annual Yukon Rodeo. The weather was perfect, and we had a lot of fun. Parker did the goat scramble. It was so cute, but there were so many kids that I don't think Parker even knew the goats were there. He just ran around following everyone else. It was definately worth the ten bucks. Parker didn't want to leave.

Saturday I woke up early to run a 5k in El Reno at the Lucky Star Casino. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I found out about the race on Thursday and decided to give it a shot because I've been good about running daily. Registration started at 7 so I hurried there because I wasn't completely sure on how to get there. There weren't many people there -maybe 50 or 60 participants. The race was an out-and-back course on a country road. Pros of the race: not many people, only $10, and the course was surrounded by farm pastures. I loved that I could breathe in fresh air and see clear blue skies and waves of grass. One con 0f the race - there were no spectators! No one was out there cheering us on, so it was very quiet. That's not a huge downfall, but it would have helped. The best part about the race was that I ran it in 25 minutes! I haven't ran that fast since high school, so I was quite proud of myself. I just wish Parker and Drew could have been there with me. (Drew was taking his bus-driving test, which he passed!) I got first place in my division, and I was the 6 female. With this as a motivational boost, I'm going to keep training for the Spirit of Survival 5k in October. My goal is to break 22 minutes. My PR for a 5k is 21:21, and that was when I was a junior in high school. Oh, it's going to be a tough one. Anywh0- after that race, I had to race to work because I had to be there at 9. I was late. Oopsy.

After work we spent some time with friends and enjoyed the evening outside. It was a good ending to pretty good day.
